Straight Bets at SBG Euro

A straight bet at an online sportsbook has one team favored over another by a point spread, money line, goal line, run line or puck line. The favorite team is always shown giving points or money (-) while the underdog is always receiving points or money (+). You win your wager if you win or cover the bet, depending upon the wager.

Pointspread Betting

A pointspread is where one team is giving points or goals and where the underdog is receiving points or goals. To win your wager you add the point or goal difference to the final score to see if you win.

Manchester United - 1/5 (- 115)
FC Barcelona + 1/5 (- 115)

In this example, a wager on the Barcelona means that you are betting Barcelona will lose the game by less than 1/5 a goal or that they will win the game outright. A wager on Manchester United means that you are betting that the Manchester United will win the game by more than 1/5 a goal. If Manchester United wins by exactly 1/5 a goal, then the wager is a push and all money is refunded. Wagers on the pointspread are based on the traditional 11/10 basis where you risk $11 to win $10 or whatever amount you want based on that equivalent.

Money Line

Money lines do not have a pointspread. You wager on which team you believe will win the game. No points or goals are involved. You risk more on a favorite and get more back on an underdog.

Liverpool + 225
Arsenal - 265

In this example, a wager on Arsenal means that you bet $265 to win $100. A wager on Liverpool means you bet $100 to win $225 or the equivalents for more or less money. A tie results in a push.

Run Line – Goal Line – Puck Line

In soccer, hockey and baseball a goal line or run line is a combination of a spread and odds. The spread is usually 1.5 goals or runs. If you wager on the favorite, they must win by 2 goals or runs. If you wager on the underdog, for you to win your bet the team can lose by 1 goal or run or they can win the game outright.

Middlesbrough +1.5 (+130)
Manchester United -1.5 (-150)

In this example, a wager on the Manchester United means that they must win the match by 2 goals in order for you to win your bet. You will have to wager $150 to win $100 or the 1.5/1 equivalent. A wager on Middlesbrough means they can lose by 1 goal or win the game outright. You are wagering $100 to win $130 or the 1/1.3 equivalent.

Game Total

This is an option where you can bet on the sum of both teams' combined scores whether it is points in football or basketball, runs in baseball or goals in soccer and hockey.

Middlesbrough – Manchester United Total 2.5 (under -130).

In this example a wager on the over means that to win your wager the match must have at least three goals. A wager on the under is a winner if the match has 2 goals or less scored. The money attached to the total means you are risking $130 to win $100 on the under or the 1.3/1 equivalent and $110 to win $110 on the over or the 11/10 equivalent.
